Indonesian coffee is currently ranked third largest in the world in terms of production. Coffee has an important role for people in Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the largest coffee producing and exporting countries in the world. The economic potentials that have come from the coffee sector, make a good opportunity for PT PPI which is now intensively developing methods of arabica coffee management from the regions of Sumatra and Papua. The steps we undertake are assistance for harvesting, post-harvest management, purchasing green beans, and marketing premium products. Coffee variants to be developed are Kopi Papua Wamena, Sumatera Toba, Mandailing Sumatra, Aceh Gayo and Papua Blend. This PPI coffee brand is named Covare.

The connection between a cup of coffee and a farmer is good, because of the commitment to produce the best quality. Consistency of nature has the perfection to influence the results of every coffee bean offered. Combining synergies between farmers' connections and the environment, Covare Coffee is home to introduce their refined coffee beans. With the aim to get an expressive response from consumers based on the quality of the coffee beans offered and return the value produced by each cup to the farmers.

Covare can be found in marketplaces such as Tokopedia, Lazada, Blibli, Shopee, Blanja.com, and so on. To support this, PT PPI is now also preparing a coffee factory in Lodan, North Jakarta. The company develops coffee by raising farmers, raising all involved and of course to raise the company itself with measurable and balanced gains.

 

Arabica Coffee

The coffee plant is an evergreen shrub, classified under the genus coffee, and part of the botanical family Rubiaceae. There are several species of coffea, the finest quality being Arabica, which today represents 59% of the world’scoffee production.

 

Robusta Coffee

Robusta coffee is coffee made from beans of the plant Coffea canephora, a sturdy species with low acidity and high bitterness. C. Canephora benas, widely known by the synonym Coffea robusta, are used primarily in instant coffee, espresso, and as a filler in ground coffee blends.

 

Aceh Coffee (arabica)

The Gayo highland in Aceh, stretching as long as the back of Mount Barisan on Sumatra island, is one of the top arabica producers in Indonesia. Gao delivers a distinct and unique coffee quality, the uniqueness that takes coffee enthusiasts to the taste of Ethiopia and Latin America. The altitude in the production area averages between 1110 and 1600 meters.

 

Sumatra Coffee (arabica & robusta)

Sumatra is the largest one in the group of the coffee grown and have unique tasting coffee is attributed to many different factors. Low acidity and complex flavor profiles have made coffee from this region special and highly sought after in the coffee world. Altitude grown 800-1500 m above sea level, with the common variete (arabica).

 

Sulawesi Coffee (arabica)

Sulawesi arabica coffee is best known for silky body, moderate acidity, and smooth finish. Its flavors tend to lend on warmer side of spice, with bold cinnamon, cardamom, and at times black pepper. 1400-1900 m above sea level.

 

Java Coffee (arabika & robusta)

Java Maragogype Coffee is derived from arabica coffee beans which have a larger size than arabica coffee in general. East Java with an altitude of 1000-1500 m above sea level so that it can be sure to give more flavor value among other types of coffee.

 

Papua Coffee (arabica)

The taste of Papua Wamena Coffee is very unique, ranging from the aroma of chocolate and floral, medium acid, to medium body. In addition, this type also produces a flavor note that tends to be earthy with herbal sensations and smokey aftertaste.

Planted at an altitude of 1200 to 1600 masl. The plantation land is volcanic soil and the temperature reaches 15 C at night.

Rice is one of nine basic ingredients. In some countries, especially Asia, rice is the most important staple food.
