PPI is now intensively developing methods of arabica coffee management from the regions of Sumatra and Papua. The steps we undertake are assistance for harvesting, post-harvest management, purchasing green beans, and marketing premium products.

On several occasions, this PPI Coffee has been featured in public tasted audiences and get a positive response.

Coffee variants under development include: Kopi Papua Wamena, Sumatera Toba, Sumatera Mandailing, Aceh Gayo and Papua Blend. Each coffee has a different taste. For example, Papuan Coffee Wamena has an aroma like honey, chocolate, and caramel. Another with Sumatera Toba which has a taste of nuanced herbs, chocolate, sweet, spicy with fragrant fruit, and after-taste as black chocolate.

This PPI coffee brand is Covare.

The connection between a cup of coffee and a farmer is good, because of the commitment to produce the best quality. Consistency of nature has the perfection to influence the results of every coffee bean offered. Combining the synergy between farmers' connections and nature, Covare is home to introduce their refined coffee beans. With the aim to get an expressive response from consumers based on the quality of the coffee beans offered and return the value produced by each cup to the farmers.

Covare is already available in Indonesian marketplaces such as Lazada, Elevania, Shopee, and Blanja.com, will follow later on other marketplaces. Offline sales were being prepared, so that the presence of Covare felt closer to the audience. To support this, PPI is also preparing a coffee factory in Lodan North Jakarta.

PPI's basic intention is to develop this coffee by raising farmers, raising all involved and, of course, to raise the company itself with measurable and balanced gains.

Puncak Jaya

After 72 years of independent Indonesia, the price of cement in Papua has dropped from Rp 2 million / sak to Rp 500,000 /sac. This price is valid in 7 districts of Jayawijaya, Puncak Jaya, Tolikara, Lanny Jaya, Nduga, Yalimo, and Mamberamo Tengah.

SOE Minister Rini Soemarno said the cement price was successfully suppressed through the synergy of several SOEs, including PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Indonesian Trading Company (Persero), PT Pelni (Persero), PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) and PT Pos Indonesia (Persero). Rini also said that the price of cement is still possible to further down.

"I am still confident that God willing, I can still come down again, the more material that can send to them, if all the sectors are synergized, do not be alone, I am sure the cost can go down and can reach to all points," he said at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Friday (8/25/2017).

Rini promised, through the synergy of SOEs, will continue to try to cut the disparity or differences in the price of cement in Papua with other regions. Flow distribution will be more efficient so that operational costs can be suppressed.

"It's because he took from Surabaya, now we send from Makassar directly to Timika, from where I came to Wamena, usually Rp 580 thousand per sack, we can lower it to Rp 370 thousand. It's all synergy," said Rini.

"This is the synergy of our SOEs, this is our result if we commit ourselves to state-owned companies, and I am sure we can do many things, I thank all of you, our grandchildren, that we show our togetherness and synergy SOEs to improve our prosperity and our economy, "explained Rini.

The decline in cement prices does not burden the state because it is not subsidized. However, SOEs do not lose. There is a slight decrease in margin, but not to lose.

Currently the cement arriving in Timika will be sent to Wamena by plane. PT Semen Indonesia and PPI will conduct control and supervision over the cement spread in the market.

As for the distribution of cement to end customers, PPI will work with local businessmen to deliver cement by road to other mountain districts such as Puncak Jaya, Tolikara, Lanny Jaya, Nduga, Yalimo, and Membramo Tengah.
